This policy explains how ChoreButton collects, uses and shares information when you use the app. ChoreButton is operated by William Fox, trading as ChoreButton (“we”, “us” or “our”). Contact: [email protected].
Information we handle
- Family and app data: family codes, profile names or nicknames, chores, rewards, points, allowance or balance information, activity history and family settings entered into the app.
- Account and family identifiers: the app uses Firebase Authentication, including anonymous authentication, and stores identifiers needed to connect a device to a family.
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics receives app-use events. Depending on the event, these may include family codes, family or child names, child IDs, chore or reward names, icons, points and amounts. Google may also process app-instance, device and app information for analytics and diagnostics.
- Subscription information: Google Play processes payments. The app stores subscription status and related family subscription details in Firebase; we do not receive or store your payment-card number.
- Bluetooth: the app can scan for and connect to compatible ChoreButton Bluetooth devices. Bluetooth permissions are used for that feature. ChoreButton does not use Bluetooth to track your location.
How we use information
We use information to provide family syncing and app features, manage subscriptions and family membership, understand app use, diagnose errors, maintain security and respond to support or deletion requests. We do not use app information to show advertisements.
Service providers and family sharing
We use Google services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics and Crashlytics, to authenticate users, store and sync family data, measure app use and diagnose crashes. Google Play handles subscription payments. These providers process information on our behalf under their applicable terms and privacy policies. Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live.
Family members using the same family code may be able to see or change shared family information, depending on their role and the app’s permissions. Share family codes only with people you trust.
Children’s information
ChoreButton is designed for families and should be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Parents may enter a child’s name or nickname and information about chores, rewards and activity. Please use a nickname where possible and do not enter sensitive information. Parents or guardians can contact us to request access to or deletion of information associated with their family.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while it is needed to provide the service, maintain family records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or protect the service. To request deletion of your account or family data, email [email protected] with “Data deletion request” in the subject. We may need information to identify the relevant account or family. Some information may remain where retention is required by law or where it is held in backups for a limited period.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at [email protected]. You can also manage app permissions in your device settings and subscription payments or cancellations through Google Play.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
